Happy New Year!
I am very excited for this second half of the school year! We will use the lessons previously learned and reviewed to explore new challenging concepts and skills. It is time for the kindergarteners to “stretch their brains”! How great it is to see them willing to trust their abilities, take risks and work outside their comfort zones. We are developing a sense of community and unity as a peer group. I’ve noticed the kindergarteners supporting, helping and comforting each other. We are learning how to solve problems in our group meetings. It is encouraging to witness the budding leadership.
The second week in December was devoted to science. We experimented with candy canes, had a lesson with Mr. John on light using prisms and attempted to make crystals. Crystal making was our first (and hopefully last!) science failure. We will try again in the future.
